Mentors have the experience and wisdom to give us sound guidance, direction, and advice. Mentors can also help us expand our point of view on a particular area of our life. Moreover, a mentor can become a good friend and confidant during times when we struggle and falter.

I think this is important with in the gay population. Our culture and history is not written down in book or taught in schools. I fear that the younger generations will loss touch with the struggles and achievements that we have made. The older generation has a responsibility to be Mentors and role models for the younger generations.
