Support Your Partner, But Not Too Much | Psych Central News

A related study showed that for men, it’s important that their wives provide the right kind of support, offering emotional, informational, tangible or esteem support as needed. For wives, it’s more important that their husbands try to be supportive — even if what they do doesn’t quite hit the mark.

A very good article on how to much support may be more detrimental to a relationship than too little. The article also goes in to how the type of support is different for men and woman. This brings up some interesting questions as to how and what type of support would work for same sex couples.
